I took this shot in one of my assignments in my photography class last semester. The subject was "something ugly" and so I thought of poverty. But I refused to take pictures of poor people since i don't think they're that "something ugly"...for me, it was more of the situation they are in.

so there, i shot this is one of the riles [railroads] in manila.

oh btw, i only scanned this since we were required to use a manual slr camera. demnit...apparently, if zoomed, it's quite distorted.

I like your photo. Very nice and truly like the places you see in Manila. Its very sad. Hope the Philippines will go back to its fruitfull stage.

I completely agree with you...Great beauty exist everywhere, even in poverty stricken areas. Many of us dont see this level and type of poverty, so it's visually intriguing and interesting to see. great shot by the way:)
